Battery Power
Most of the portable computer use rechargeable batteries which are made up of nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride and lithium ion. These batteries are small and lightweight and can give backup of at least five hours to the users. The small time backup is sue to small size of the batteries.
USB Ports
USB ports are used to connect external devices like scanner to computers. Now mouse and keyboards are also connected in the USB port in the 2.0 version of USB. The standard USB transfers data at rate of 12Mbps. There can be 127 peripheral devices connected to single USB port and it also provides support to plug and play installation.
Antivirus
The antivirus programs protect computer from virus and warn against latest threat of viruses. You must have latest antivirus program which can be updated with the internet.
Virus is a specific program which can load into the computer and replicate themselves without knowledge of users. The virus can come into any computer and it is restively easy to make simple virus program. These virus programs can damage computers by eating all available memory which can bring computers to halt. The more powerful virus programs can transfer the data of users from one computer to another. It is important for the users tokeep anti virus program in their computers which can protect them againstr problems.
AMD
AMD stands for advanced Micro Devices which are manufacturers of chips for computers. The processors made by AMD are used in the personal computers as well in the Laptops including Athlon and Duron chips.
Bluetooth
Bluetooth is a wireless communication between computers and laptops which is innovated by different companies like Ericsson, IBM, Nokia, Toshiba and Intel. This technology is being used in mobiles to send messages from one mobile to another. Data can also be synchronized with Bluetooth between internet devices and other computers.
DDR
DDR stands for Daouble Data Rate which is used in RAM. It is used for fast data transfer and it is a type of SDRAM and it doubles the memory chips. The good thing about the DDR is that it uses less power which is suitable for the laptops.
Modem
This device is used to transmit data over telephone or cable lines. The stored digital data is transmitted in the form of analog waves over telephone lines.
VOIP
Voice over Internet Protocol is used for making phone call calls over internet. There are no extra charges of calling with VOIP. You can find number of internet telephone applications for making cheap internet calls like vonage, IP telephony and VOI.
